All are invited to participate in a debate competition known as the “Policy Debate” on campus on\u00c2\u00a0Saturday, Nov. 3<\/strong>, in the Hoover lobby. The team check-in, opening ceremony and coaching session will take place between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.<\/strong> The first debate round will commence at 1:45 p.m.,<\/strong> and the final will finish at 8 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This event will focus on chosen topics that teams of four will debate on over the course of three preliminary rounds, plus a final round. Participants will be expected to attend the full event, including debates, meals and ceremonies. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served to all participants throughout the day.<\/p>\n

No previous experience in a debate is required. Each individual person on the winning team will receive $125 Amazon gift cards. Smaller amounts will be\u00c2\u00a0given to other participants who place lower.<\/p>\n

If you sign up individually, you will be placed on a team and notified by Oct. 26. If there aren’t enough individual sign-ups, you will not be placed on a team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
