Enzinger<\/strong> (School of Education) coedited and published the first edited book on conceptualizations of integers,\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.springer.com\/us\/book\/9783319906911\"><em>Exploring the Integer Addition and Subtraction Landscape: Perspectives on Integer Addition<\/em><\/a>. In addition to her own chapters, the book also includes contributions and commentary from international scholars around thinking about integers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chengping Zhang<\/strong> (College of Business) earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential in September. The CFA designation is a prestigious and globally respected certification credential and attests to a\u00c2\u00a0charterholder&#8217;s\u00c2\u00a0success in a rigorous and comprehensive program in the field of investment management and research analysis. He will be the College of Business\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 faculty liaison to the CFA Institute.\u00c2\u00a0Chengping\u00c2\u00a0has helped several previous students prepare for their CFA exams. He plans to actively\u00c2\u00a0connect\u00c2\u00a0students with professionals in the financial and investment industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Melissa Ramos<\/strong> (Christian Studies) published an article for the <em>Presbyterian Outlook,<\/em> titled <a href=\"https:\/\/pres-outlook.org\/2018\/10\/recovering-the-lost-art-of-reading-the-biblical-languages\/\">&#8220;Recovering the Lost Art of Reading the Biblical Languages.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Otto<\/strong> (History)\u00c2\u00a0coedited (with Susanne Berthier, from the Universit\u00c3\u00a9 Grenoble Alpes) a volume that was recently\u00c2\u00a0published online: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/representations.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr\/spip.php?article47\">Migrations and Borders in the United States: Discourses,Representations, Imaginary Contexts<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Randy Woodley<\/strong> (Seminary) was the featured speaker at the\u00c2\u00a0Stoutemire Lectures on Diversity\u00c2\u00a0at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan, where he spoke on\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Indigenous Theology as Original Instructions\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sept. 24-26. On the same trip, he preached at Maple Avenue Church (RCA\/CRC) on the topic \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Misunderstanding Jesus\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on Sept. 23. Randy followed that up with a plenary speaking engagement at the\u00c2\u00a0fourth annual Rooted and Grounded Ecological Symposium at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana, where he presented \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Resurrecting Ancient Wisdom and Worldview\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on Sept. 29. In October, he was added to the Speaker\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bureau of the international organization\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldbeyondwar.org\/\">World Beyond War<\/a>, and is starting a local chapter. His other recent activities include presenting \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Religion and Bias Against the Vulnerable\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at the 2018\u00c2\u00a0Trauma and Social Justice Conference\u00c2\u00a0at George Fox on Sept. 14; serving as plenary speaker (\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Shalom and Indigenous Peace: The\u00c2\u00a0Harmony Way\u00e2\u20ac\u009d) and presenting workshops at the\u00c2\u00a0Association of Christian Schools International\u00c2\u00a0gathering in\u00c2\u00a0Abbotsford, British\u00c2\u00a0Columbia, on Oct. 5; and offering the public\u00c2\u00a0prayer\u00c2\u00a0at\u00c2\u00a0Vancouver Avenue Baptist Church\u00c2\u00a0for the interfaith service where Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, spoke on\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153A Call to Action: Building Bridges of Compassion and Peace\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on Oct. 14.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nicole M.
