The article highlights George Fox\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program for degree completion students, arguing that PLA can provide adult students with a broader, more expansive understanding of how to think about learning, the workplace, and an internet-connected world where students are daily called to engage with integrity and intentionality. The full-text article can be accessed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/eprint\/EPE4sqKY7F4YzFHn4q5z\/full\">this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guadalupe Garcia McCall\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/strong> (English) latest book,\u00c2\u00a0<em>Shame the Stars<\/em>, was chosen by the Texas Center for the Book at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission as Texas\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Great Read for 2018. Each year, states are asked to highlight a book representative of the region\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s literary landscape at the National Book Festival, an event sponsored by the Library of Congress. Those selected for the honor will showcase their books at an event in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 1. Guadalupe has written a sequel to the book, <em>All the Stars Denied<\/em>, scheduled for release on Oct. 9, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Debby Thomas<\/strong> (College of Business) recently published an article, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Jesus\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Cross-Cultural Model of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcLeader as Servant\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 In Luke 22:24-30,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in the <em>Theology of Leadership Journal<\/em>. She also attended the Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Conference June 6-9 at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, where she presented on the topic \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Golden Shadow of Classroom as Organization\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and participated in a panel presentation on how to teach classroom as organization, an experiential and transformational approach to teaching that can be applied to teach any management topic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Randy Woodley<\/strong> (Seminary) wrote a chapter, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Truth to Power: Daniel Chapter 3,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d published in the book <em>Unsettling the Word: Biblical Experiments in Decolonization<\/em> (Mennonite Press). He also wrote the chapter\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Poor and Poverty in North American Indigenous Traditions\u00e2\u20ac\u009d that appears in <em>Poverty and the Poor in the World\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Religious Traditions, Vol. 2<\/em>,\u00c2\u00a0(Praeger\/ABC-CLIO). In addition, he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s recently published a number of articles and been interviewed, including by <em>Why Hunger<\/em> magazine in August, for which he discussed the topic \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Need for Twenty-First Century Reparations.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d His piece \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Integrating Pedagogical Vulnerability in Distance Learning\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was published on the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s website, and his article \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Reading Scripture through the Eyes of Jesus\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Shalom Kingdom\u00e2\u20ac\u009d appeared on Zondervan NRSV Bible\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s webpage. Randy also wrote an article, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Why I Vote,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for <em>Sojourner\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/em> magazine (November 2018). He also was the plenary speaker at the Inhabit Conference on April 27-28 in Seattle, speaking on \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Eight Fallacies of a Western Christian Worldview\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and presenting a workshop, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Dis-empowering the Myth of Whiteness from Your Parish.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He also kicked off the Creationtide sermon series at Murray Hills Christian Church; conducted a plenary Skype address on \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Models of Shalom\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0for\u00c2\u00a0Re-Imagining Faith and Re-Claiming Fellowship in Diaspora: We Ourselves or In Solidarity?
