In February, Nicole Enzinger<\/strong> (Education) gave two presentations at the annual Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators Conference in Orlando, Florida: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Investigating prospective teachers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 evaluations of children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s temperature stories\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Examining Pinterest as a curriculum resource.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Also, in early March, Nicole gave an invited lecture, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Integers: A space for mathematical play,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at the Metropolitan Mathematics Club in Chicago. This invited lecture was based on her upcoming book, Exploring the Integer Addition and Subtraction Landscape: Perspectives on Integer Thinking<\/em>. More recently, Nicole presented \u00e2\u20ac\u0153This is not \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcNew Math,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 but we can learn lessons from \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcNew Math,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for the Oregon Association of Teacher Educators Conference at the University of Portland.<\/p>\n

Dana Bates<\/strong> (Athletic Training) published a study, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Perceptions from athletic training students involved in an intentional peer-assisted learning pedagogy,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in the Athletic Training Education Journal<\/em>. The study investigated athletic training students\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 perceptions of peer-assisted learning on both the peer-student and peer-tutor. In addition, Dana and Jill Sikkema<\/strong> (adjunct faculty in HHPE) published an article, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Critical-thinking skills of first-year athletic training students enrolled in professional programs,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in the March 2017 Athletic Training Education Journal<\/em>. In the piece, the authors investigated critical thinking and other demographic variables across first-year athletic training students enrolled in professional bachelor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree and master\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree programs.<\/p>\n

Ed Higgins<\/strong> (English) published his poem \u00e2\u20ac\u0153To my own two feet\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in the surrealist online poetry journal Uut Poetry<\/em> on March 31.<\/p>\n

David Johnstone<\/strong> (Student Life) wrote a review of Soong-Chan Rah\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Prophetic Lament: A Call for Justice in Troubled Times for the Christian Scholar’s Review<\/em> (Winter 2017).<\/p>\n

Paul Anderson<\/strong> (Christian Studies) published a fourth review of CNN\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Finding Jesus 2<\/em> series on The Bible and Interpretation website, titled \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Herod the Great, or Herod the Terrible?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/a> He also published an article, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Can Any Good Thing Come from Nazareth? The Childhood Home of Jesus,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/a> on the same site and in the March 22 edition of The Huffington Post<\/a>. In addition, Paul posted reviews of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Raising Lazarus: Climax or Prequel?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on the Bible and Interpretation<\/a> and Huffington Post<\/a> sites.<\/p>\n
