{"id":4163,"date":"2009-11-04T14:01:40","date_gmt":"2009-11-04T22:01:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/?p=4163"},"modified":"2009-11-04T14:01:40","modified_gmt":"2009-11-04T22:01:40","slug":"mid-term-grades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/2009\/11\/04\/mid-term-grades\/","title":{"rendered":"Mid-Term Grades!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Have you checked your mid-term grade report? <\/strong> Depending upon what you find you need to consider taking some action.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nTo check your mid-term grades in MYGFU \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<ol>CLICK ON SELF-SERVICE<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON ENROLLMENT<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON VIEW MY GRADES<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON THE CORRECT TERM<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON THE MID-TERM GRADES TAB<\/ol>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Now you need to determine what to do next:<\/strong><\/p>\n<li>Consider whether to withdraw from one or more courses if it looks likely that you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll get an F (or maybe even a D).<\/li>\n<li>The last date to withdraw is Friday, November 6, at 5 p.m. <\/strong> You can usually go below 12 hours (at this point in the semester) without impacting your financial aid.<\/li>\n<li>Withdrawal results in a W on your transcript but does not factor into GPA.  If you were to get an F, it would impact GPA.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm any thoughts of withdrawing from classes with your advisor.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with each professor, especially those teaching courses you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re struggling in.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with your advisor to discuss options.<\/li>\n<li>Use labs, help sessions, &#038; the ARC.<\/li>\n<li>If you think you might have a learning disability, have some assessment done.  Contact the Health and Counseling Center at 503-554-2340 or stop by their offices.<\/li>\n<li>Plan well for Spring semester.<\/li>\n<li>Consider whether you are in the right pathway in terms of a major or career.  You might want to enroll in GEED 214:  Claim Your Career Calling, a 1-hour online course (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/offices\/career_services\/inactive_pages\/careercourses.html\">http:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/offices\/career_services\/inactive_pages\/careercourses.html<\/a>) for more information) or meet with someone in the Career Services office.<\/li>\n<p><strong>Things to think about:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>?<\/strong>How will my decisions impact my ability to graduate on my timeline?  (Contact the Registrar&#8217;s office for the answer to this question.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>? <\/strong>What (if any) financial impact will my decisions have?  (Contact the the Student Financial Services office for the answer to this question.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>? <\/strong>How can I build skills NOW to help me in the future?
