The Sound Theatre Company is a professional theatre in Seattle. Both the play and the scenic design received positive reviews.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don Powers<\/strong> (Biology) made a presentation, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Will Climate Change Limit Hovering in Hummingbirds?,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at the North American Ornithological Conference VI in Washington, D.C., last week. His talk was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allaboutbirds.org\/research-highlights-from-2000-ornithologists-at-the-naoc-2016-meeting\/\">listed as a Day 4 highlight<\/a> at the conference by the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. Also presenting at the event was alumna Rosalee Elting, who presented \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Can Hummingbirds Increase Compensatory Nectar Consumption during Extreme Energetic Demand?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d The NAOC is only held every four to six years and is a combined meeting of all the major ornithological societies in North America. This year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s meeting was the largest ornithology meeting in history anywhere in the world. In addition, Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s lab published an article, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Three-dimensional simulation for fast forward flight of a calliope hummingbird,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in <em>Royal Society Open Science<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Anderson<\/strong> (Christian studies) presented papers at several conferences this summer: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153From Bellers to Bellows \u00e2\u20ac\u201c A Friendly Vision of Faith, Work, Industry, and Society\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (Friends Association for Higher Education, Woodbrooke, Selly Oak, UK, June); a response to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153How Jesus Became Uncreated\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (lead paper by Gabrielle Boccaccini) at the Enoch Seminar on \u00e2\u20ac\u0153John the Jew: Reading the Gospel of John\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Christology as a Form of Jewish Messianism\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (Camaldoli, Italy, June); \u00e2\u20ac\u0153On \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcAssured Results of Biblical Criticism\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and John\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Non-Authorship \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the State of the Johannine Question\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (lead paper at the preconference on the Johannine Question; Montreal, Canada, August); and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153John 6: The Grand Central Station of Johannine Critical Issues\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas (Montreal, Canada, August).
