Don’t forget to join the university’s Department of Biology and Chemistry for the sixth annual Dalton Lecture at 7:30 p.m. <\/strong>this Thursday, Feb. 18<\/strong>, in Bauman Auditorium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

James M. Tour, PhD, the T. T. and W. F. Chao Professor of Chemistry, Professor of Computer Science, Professor of Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University’s Smalley Institute of Nanoscience and Technology, will present “Jesus Christ and Nanotechnology: The Impact of Faith Upon the Life of a Scientist.”<\/p>\n

Admission is free, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, chapel credit is available for students.<\/p>\n

Dr. Tour will also be speaking Thursday<\/strong> at 3 p.m.<\/strong> in Wood-Mar Auditorium<\/strong>. Feel free to attend that as well.<\/p>\n

Tour has more than 550 research publications and more than 75 patents, with citations totaling more than 55,000. He was named among \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The 50 Most Influential Scientists in the World Today\u00e2\u20ac\u009d by TheBestSchools.org in 2014.<\/p>\n

He will share a brief overview of nanotechnology and his coming to faith in Jesus Christ and how this decision impacted his life. He will also share his thoughts regarding evolution and his hope for science and the young.<\/p>\n

A dessert reception and Student Research Poster session follows the evening lecture.<\/p>\n
