The library is exhibiting two new art shows and another that continues through the first week of April.<\/p>\n
Karen Bowdoin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/strong> 3-D class has two different art forms on display, paper sculptures and Cornell Boxes, as well as a new class in book arts. With the Cornell Box assignment, students develop a strong concept or idea and build a box from a pre-made kit that houses items (found or created) that communicate their theme or idea.<\/p>\n New to the library show this year are the paper sculptures. Students were asked to create an aesthetically pleasing, three-dimensional form, two to three feet high, from the two-dimensional material of white paper. These incredible sculptures include a masque, birds, and a hand holding a cup.<\/p>\n Book arts is a new class offered this semester. In it, students explore the structure and content of the book in terms of how it relates to the world of art. Lori McLaughlin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/strong> Design 2 class has created various whimsical and realistic cardboard sculptures that are cavorting around the second-floor railing.<\/p>\n On continuing display is selected artwork from Bob Bredemeier\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<\/strong> illustration class, now hanging in the classy new display system that Bob designed and made.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The library is exhibiting two new art shows and another that continues through the first week of April.
