The university community is invited to a series of guest lectures, faculty presentations and weekly \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Turning of the Page\u00e2\u20ac\u009d sessions about the historic Saint John’s Bible<\/em>. The “Spring into Illumination: Seeing the Word Through The Saint John\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bible<\/em>” events begin on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and run through mid-April.<\/p>\n

The Saint John’s Bible<\/em> is the first completely handwritten and illuminated Bible to have been commissioned by a Benedictine Abbey (Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minn.) since the invention of the printing press. The Heritage Edition of The Saint John’s Bible<\/em> is the full-size fine art reproduction of the original. Measuring two feet tall by three feet wide when open, it is the exact size of the original manuscript.<\/p>\n

The Turning of the Page: Leafing through the Saint John\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bible<\/strong>
\nEvery Friday afternoon between Jan. 16 and April 24 all are invited to come browse through the pages of the Heritage Edition of The Saint John\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bible \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Vol. 6, The Gospels and Acts<\/em>, and hear Paul Anderson<\/strong>, professor of biblical and Quaker studies, share about the meaning and significance of the text and artwork on display the following week. Sessions will be in the Murdock Learning Resource Center from 4 to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
