While Cesar Chavez ended his 36-day fast for the rights of farm workers in 1988, we still have a broken immigration system afflicting workers, children, mothers and fathers. Because of the current system, families who have been brought together by God are being torn apart.<\/p>\n

At the end of Cesar Chavez Week and on the anniversary of the day Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, SpIL at Fox and the Social Justice League of George Fox Evangelical Seminary will be joining the Fast for Families movement to fast for those families that are being broken apart and to pray for reform that will reunite them. Please consider joining us and giving up food for a day to fast for justice.<\/p>\n

Instead of eating on Friday, April 4<\/strong>, we will be meeting for prayer during meal times at 8:15 a.m., noon and 5:30 p.m. in the Prayer Chapel to pray and hear directly from students who have more directly experienced our immigration system. What God has brought together, let no one break apart.<\/p>\n
