{"id":18819,"date":"2013-03-18T13:01:42","date_gmt":"2013-03-18T21:01:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/?p=18819"},"modified":"2013-03-18T15:35:42","modified_gmt":"2013-03-18T23:35:42","slug":"mid-term-grades-information-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/2013\/03\/18\/mid-term-grades-information-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Mid-Term Grade Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Have you checked your mid-term grade report? <\/strong> Depending upon what you find, you need to consider taking some action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To check your mid-term grades in MYGFU \u00e2\u20ac\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>CLICK ON SELF-SERVICE<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON ENROLLMENT<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON VIEW MY GRADES<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON THE CORRECT TERM<\/ol>\n<ol>CLICK ON THE MID-TERM GRADES TAB<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Now you need to determine what to do next:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consider whether to withdraw from one or more courses if it looks likely that you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll get an F (or maybe even a D).<\/li>\n<li>The last date to withdraw is Sunday, March 24, 2013.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You can usually go below 12 hours (at this point in the semester) without impacting your financial aid or housing. However, you should contact representatives in these departments to be certain: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residence Life \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Dave Johnstone \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <a title=\"E-mail Dave Johnstone\" href=\"mailto:\/\/djohnstone@georgefox.edu\" target=\"_blank\">djohnstone@georgefox.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Student Financial Services &#8211; mailto:sfs@georgefox.edu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Withdrawal results in a W on your transcript but does not factor into GPA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you were to get an F, it would impact GPA.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Confirm any thoughts of withdrawing from classes with your advisor.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with each professor, especially those teaching courses you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re struggling in. Even if your professor doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t post mid-term grades, find out from the professor what your grade is.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with your advisor to discuss options.<\/li>\n<li>Use <a title=\"Labs - Tutoring Services\" href=\"http:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/arc\/tutoring\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>labs<\/strong><\/a>, help sessions, &amp; <a title=\"The ARC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/arc\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>the ARC<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you think you might have a learning disability, have some assessment done. Contact the Health and Counseling Center at 503-554-2340 or stop by their offices.<\/li>\n<li>Plan well for fall semester.<\/li>\n<li>Consider whether you are in the right pathway in terms of a major or career.
