As we speak many of your professors are working to prepare your mid-term grade report. They are due in MYGFU by October 26, 2012.<\/p>\n

Mid-term grades are a great tool to assess your progress in a class and help to make plans for the rest of the semester.<\/p>\n

\nAfter October 26, to check your mid-term grades in MYGFU \u00e2\u20ac\u201c<\/p>\n

Depending upon what you see, here are some ideas on what to do next.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Consider whether to withdraw from one or more courses if it looks likely that you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll get an F (or maybe even a D). <\/p>\n

The last date to withdraw is Sunday, November 4, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can usually go below 12 hours (at this point in the semester) without impacting your financial aid or housing. <\/p>\n

However, you should contact representatives in these departments to be certain:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Residence Life \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Dave Johnstone \u00e2\u20ac\u201c djohnstone@georgefox.edu<\/a><\/p>\n

Student Financial Services – sfs@georgefox.edu<\/a><\/p>\n

Withdrawal results in a W on your transcript but does not factor into GPA.<\/p>\n

If you were to get an F, it would impact GPA. <\/p>\n

Confirm any thoughts of withdrawing from classes with your advisor.<\/p>\n

Meet with each professor, especially those teaching the courses you are struggling in. <\/p>\n

Even if your professor doesn’t post mid-term grades, find out from each professor what your grade is.<\/p>\n

Meet with your advisor to discuss options.<\/p>\n

Use Tutoring Sessions<\/a> & the ARC<\/a>. <\/p>\n

If you think you might have a learning disability, have some assessment done. Contact the Health and Counseling Center at 503-554-2340 or stop by their offices.<\/p>\n

Plan well for Spring semester.<\/p>\n

Consider whether you are in the right pathway in terms of a major or career. You might want to enroll in GEED 214: Claim Your Career Calling, a 1-hour online course: This course is offered in the spring semester.
