{"id":15915,"date":"2012-09-19T10:31:23","date_gmt":"2012-09-19T18:31:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/?p=15915"},"modified":"2012-09-19T10:31:23","modified_gmt":"2012-09-19T18:31:23","slug":"applications-for-spring-plc-on-teaching-ethics-due-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/ennounce\/2012\/09\/19\/applications-for-spring-plc-on-teaching-ethics-due-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications for spring PLC on teaching ethics due soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Applications for the spring online faculty Professional Learning Community (PLC) &#8220;Teaching the Big Ideas: Ethics&#8221; are due <strong>Monday, Oct. 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Key features of this PLC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Three to four synchronous sessions supplemented by asynchronous collaboration and sharing (group members will set dates and times for the synchronous sessions)<\/li>\n<li>Share how you approach the teaching of ethics<\/li>\n<li>Get ideas and resources from other faculty in other fields who also teach ethics<\/li>\n<li>Consider how various understandings of faith integration inform the teaching of ethics across the university<\/li>\n<li>Gather resources and suggestions to share with all GFU faculty<\/li>\n<li>Receive a $300 honorarium for participating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The online format will provide access to those who typically cannot attend PLC offerings, and this learning community will have the added benefit of allowing faculty who are not experienced in online teaching tools to practice with the format in a low-risk, collegial context.<\/p>\n<p>Questions?
