Are you a non-business major who might have a particular interest in a specific business topic?<\/p>\n<p>The School of Business would like to highlight several new(er) courses that are being offered fall 2012:<\/p>\n<p><strong>ECON 485 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Environmental Economics<\/strong><br \/>\nStudents will explore the relationship between the economy and the environment. The efficient management of natural resources, impacts of pollution, and sustainability issues will all be considered. To account for economic growth concerns the scope of analysis includes both the developed and developing world. The primary objective of the course is to increase students\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 understanding of policy-relevant, incentive-based solutions to environmental issues.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prerequisites: Either Econ 201 (Principles of Microeconomics) or ECON 202 (Principles of Macroeconomics), or permission of the Instructor<\/li>\n<li>Taught by <strong>Nate Peach<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>BUSN 303 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Personal Finance<\/strong><br \/>\nThis course is designed to prepare students to think critically about their relationship with money, develop their own personal financial philosophy and implement practical application of personal financial management. Topics include relationship with money, biblical financial foundations, budgets, loans, spending, housing, insurance, investments, and taxes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prerequisites: None<\/li>\n<li>Taught by <strong>Ryan Halley<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MKTG 485 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Consumer Engagement and Social Networking<\/strong><br \/>\nMarketing is all about connecting &#8230; connecting with your customer, connecting with management, connecting with money (budget), and connecting with retail. What is our business? Who are our customers? What does the customer value? Consumer engagement is not a single source of contact but an ongoing &#8220;conversation&#8221; \u00e2\u20ac\u201c developing brand positioning, leveraging user-generated content, and creating a word-of-mouth social audience, all resulting in customer loyalty and influencing behavior.
