His topic was \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Life Insurance in Charitable Giving.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He made a similar presentation to the Northwest Planned Giving Roundtable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Terry Huffman<\/strong> (Education) published a book, <em>American Indian Higher Educational Experiences: Cultural Visions and Personal Journeys<\/em> (Peter Lang Publishing). He also presented a paper in February, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Family Relation Patterns among Interracial Families,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d with colleague Ron Ferguson at the annual American Association of Behavioral and Social Sciences Conference in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>Terry also learned that an article he and Ferguson published last year in <em>Great Plains Research<\/em>, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Evaluation of the College Experience among American Indian Upperclassmen,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d has been nominated for the Leslie Hewes Award. The award is presented annually by the Center for Great Plains Studies at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln for the best social science journal article related to the Great Plains region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bruce Strom<\/strong> and <strong>Rae Casey<\/strong> (School of Professional Studies) presented \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hybrid Learning: A Model and Key Considerations for Development\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at the Midwest Scholars Conference at Indiana Wesleyan University on Feb. 22. Bruce also wrote an article, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Small Business Organization and Taxation Issues,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for the Small Business Advisor section of the Small Business Development Center\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s (Boise Chamber of Commerce) March newsletter. Another article he wrote, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Learn About Trends in Small Business Development,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d appeared in the Feb. 20 edition of the <em>Idaho Press-Tribune<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rhett Luedtke<\/strong> (Performing Arts) directed Neil LaBute\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s new play, <em>Fat Pig<\/em>, at Salem Repertory Theatre, Salem\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s only professional theatre, in February. Both <em>The Statesman Journal<\/em> and <em>The Salem Monthly<\/em> gave the show excellent reviews for direction and the quality of ensemble acting throughout the show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jim Steele<\/strong> (Management) presented a paper, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Professional Identity and Professionals\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Workplace Learning: A Theoretical Proposal,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at the Academy of Human Resource Development 2008 International Research Conference in the Americas. The conference took place in Panama City, Fla., Feb. 21-24.
