Register now for the MLK Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

This day is similar to Serve Day except we collaborate with 10 other Portland-area universities. Students, employees and those with children over 6 years of age can participate.<\/p>\n

History<\/strong>
\nThree years ago, George Fox started collaborating with area colleges to put on the first service day of its kind in the Portland area, helping to bring unity among schools and to service the needs of the city. Every year, about 1,200 college students join together. We start with a rally, then divide up into teams, mixing with students from various colleges, to do service projects. This year our focus is on access to education.<\/p>\n

Our Role<\/strong>
\nThis is an amazing opportunity for us to be a light as leaders and to share Christ’s love through tangible ways of service and collaboration with people from all walks of life. We serve others because we first serve God. Our goal is to bring 120 participants from George Fox this year.<\/p>\n
