Critics. Christians. A medievalist and a modernist respectively, C.S. Lewis and T.S. Eliot might seem like unlikely collaborators. But in the 1950s, they both found themselves on the Archbishop&#8217;s council to revise the psalter for Anglican worship.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Fire and the Rose: C.S. Lewis &amp; T.S. Eliot in Conversation<\/em> is a new play commissioned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgefox.edu\/cs-lewis-initiative\/conference.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Undiscovered 2026 C.S. Lewis Conference<\/strong><\/a> being hosted on campus. It imagines a meeting between the two literary rivals, sweeping the audience away into discussions of the nature of God and time, hilarious anecdotes, and powerful revelations.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Fire and the Rose<\/em> runs approximately 60 minutes with no intermission, and will be performed in the amphitheater. In case of bad weather, the production will be moved into the chapel.<\/p>\n<p>There is only <strong>one<\/strong> public performance: <strong>Friday<\/strong>, <strong>Sept. 25,<\/strong> at <strong>7:30 p.m.<\/strong> George Fox students and staff can reserve a <strong>free<\/strong> ticket when they use their George Fox email address at checkout.
