Happy Thanksgiving, Bruins!\u00a0<\/span>Over Thanksgiving break, be sure to set aside some time to get a head start on financial aid for next school year!<\/span><\/p>\n

Follow this list of essential to-do\u2019s to make sure you\u2019re accessing as much \u201cfree money\u201d as possible in 2026-27:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. The <\/span>2026-27 FAFSA<\/b><\/a> is open and should be submitted ASAP! Have questions? Check out our <\/span>FAFSA Frequently Asked Questions<\/a><\/strong> page and our <\/span>Tips and Tricks for the FAFSA<\/a><\/strong> article, or <\/span>schedule a FAFSA Help Session<\/strong><\/span><\/a> with your financial aid counselor.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Oregon residents can now apply for OSAC Scholarships<\/b><\/a>. One application grants access to more than 600 scholarships totaling more than $10 million. Need help? Check out our OSAC Scholarship Tips and Tricks blog<\/a><\/strong> and our OSAC Scholarship Guide<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. All returning traditional undergraduate students can apply for George Fox Donor-Funded Scholarships<\/b><\/a>. Submit by Feb. 17<\/strong> for the chance to win a $500 Early Bird Scholarship (getting the application done early is strongly encouraged, as some scholarships require additional materials which will not appear until after the main application is submitted).<\/i><\/li>\n
  4. Look through this Outside Scholarships<\/b><\/a> page for links to regional and national scholarship search databases.<\/li>\n
  5. Check out our Scholarship Resource Folder<\/b><\/a> for valuable templates, tips and timelines.<\/li>\n
  6. Schedule an appointment with the Academic Resource Center<\/b><\/a> for individual help with scholarship essay writing. Students who used this service last year received thousands of dollars<\/b> in scholarship awards, and more than 60% of participants who did not receive a scholarship the year before received one for the first time after working with the ARC!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
