Make plans to join the inaugural “Friendly Walk” on Saturday,<\/strong> May 10<\/strong>, starting at 10 a.m. <\/strong>Gather in the plaza on the south side of the Chehalem Cultural Center (adjacent to Sheridan Street).<\/p>\n

You will be formed into small teams of people (at least some of whom you won’t know), given a map of a suggested route, and sent off on about an hour’s walk, team by team. You will have information on key historical and cultural sites in downtown Newberg and on the George Fox campus, and will cooperate to complete items on a list of things to do, talk about, and find along the way.<\/p>\n

On returning to the Cultural Center, teams will receive prizes, including a special prize if you can show photos or other evidence of each item on the to-do list.<\/p>\n

Along the way you will learn about Newberg’s history, have fun, get some exercise, get to know some new people, help create a stronger network of friendly relationships in the community across ideological or other boundaries, and improve your ability to use disagreements to generate better ideas for a better community.<\/p>\n
