The nursing and social work departments are looking for volunteers to participate in our poverty simulation on Friday, Oct. 11, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in Canyon Commons.

This event is required for social work and nursing students and is dependent upon volunteers to help be a part of the “community.” You will assume the role of a business owner or agency member (such as a grocery store clerk, pawn shop owner, DMV employee, etc.)

No preparation is needed; a packet will be given to you at the event with all that you need to know. You will have the opportunity to watch the students as they take on the role of a family living in poverty and go through daily tasks with the added challenge of poverty.

Please RSVP by Monday, Sept. 30, if you would like to participate by contacting Kim Rapp at rappk@georgefox.edu or Jenny Vuksich at jvuksich@georgefox.edu.

Information about lost and found items

Thursday, September 26th, 2019

Found items should promptly be taken to the Campus Public Safety office where they are tagged and logged with a date and location if known. We then check our master list of reported lost items to try to match an owner with an item. Owners are emailed or called if we can identify a match. For faster retrieval of your lost items, please write your name on your belongings.

Come in to the security office to report your lost items as soon as you lose them, and please pick them up quickly when you’re notified that they have been found because we have limited storage space. We donate unclaimed items every 4 to 6 weeks to charitable causes.

Questions? Contact Elrike Shaw at eshaw@georgefox.edu or call our office at 503.554.2090.
