PT clinic remains open through summer

The physical therapy department is excited to announce that our PT clinic is open all summer long, Monday through Friday, to serve your needs.

We are a participating provider for Regence and offer self-pay options for those not on Regence. Our pro-bono clinic is available this summer as well.

FY2016-17 requests must be submitted by July 7

Fiscal Year End 2016-17 is quickly approaching, and the Finance Department would appreciate your help in ensuring a smooth and timely year-end close. Please review and note the following deadline for Accounts Payable requests:

1) Submission of the following FY2016-17 requests must be received by Finance on or before Friday, July 7, 2017:

  • Check Requests
  • Invoices
  • Expense Reimbursement Requests
  • Petty Cash Logs for expenses through June 30, 2017 ONLY

Department mailbox changes: Email Mail Services if affected by reorganization

With the structural reorganization taking place, there is a lot of shuffling going around. If you have been affected by the reorganization and have had to transition to a new department, we need to hear from you.

To confirm that Mail Services has accurate information for where to place your mail, please email Mail Services ASAP with the following information:

Several employees relocate to accommodate restructuring of departments

With the recent restructuring of departments came the need to relocate several individuals. Below is a listing of who has moved where so far.

  • All of Human Resources is now on the first floor of the Minthorne (Colonial) office building at the corner of Meridian and Sheridan streets.
  • The Advancement office has moved to the second floor of the Minthorne office building, including Lynn Andrews, Robby Larson, Dave Adrian, Shannon Johnson, Stephanie Bugas, Jeremy Doucette-Hardy and Emily Grace Cropper-Russel.
  • Lisa Leslie and Peg Hutton (Event Services) have moved to the Beals House.
  • Tai Harden-Moore has moved to Hoover 113.
  • Alex Pia has moved to Stevens 327.
  • Megan Fisher has moved to Stevens 328.
  • Jennifer Farland has moved from the International House to Portland Center 177.
  • Rick Muthiah has temporarily moved to the first floor of the Stevens Center, next to Academic Affairs (he anticipates moving again later this summer).

Bon Appetit takes a ‘road trip’ on Route 66 this summer

Come along with us as we take a culinary road trip along Route 66 this summer! Starting tomorrow (Wednesday), Bon Appetit be serving up iconic foods from this classic region every Wednesday through Aug. 9 as a lunch special from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the patio outside Canyon Commons.

Pick up a punch card while you’re here; there will be a drawing at the end of the road for a fun prize!

End-of-Year Reminder for Deposits and Petty Cash Reconciliations

Monday, June 19th, 2017

End-of-the-fiscal year deposits to be included in this year’s budget must be in Finance no later than Friday, June 30. Checks dated prior to June 30, 2017, must be deposited in the current fiscal year.

Please look around your desks and file cabinets to see if there are any lingering items that need to go to the bank. If you are taking vacation during the July 4 holiday, please send your deposits over BEFORE you leave. If you should have any questions about deposits, please contact Heather Groenlund at ext. 2173.

Final petty cash reconciliations for this fiscal year are due in Finance no later than Friday, June 30. Please remember to submit all receipts, cash, and reconciliation reports before this deadline. Please plan ahead and send these over before you leave, if you will be taking vacation over the July 4 holiday. If you have questions about petty cash protocols, please contact Jen Klapp at ext. 2170.

Who’s on Campus this Week …

Bruin Sports Camp: Volleyball
Coach Emily Palkert is partnering with Nike to offer an overnight volleyball camp June 23-25.  The intermediate/advanced all-skills camp is designed for female athletes with organized volleyball experience. Sessions are dedicated to individual skill instruction, positional training and team competition.

Bruin Camp: Football
Coaches John Bates and Ken Ingram are running three football camps this summer. The first is an overnight team camp June 23-26 that will host about 450 high school students. The second is a day camp for youth June 27-29. The third football camp is an overnight individual skills session June 30-July 1.

Oregon Suzuki Institute
The Oregon Suzuki Institute is a week-long program (June 26-July 1) held every summer at George Fox. The institute provides an opportunity for approximately 350 Suzuki students to receive lessons, perform and take classes in order to reinforce their normal studies. Check-in is Sunday in the EHS Atrium at noon.

George Fox Bruin Academic Camp
Funded through the Lilly Endowment Inc., Theologia is a week-long institute on the university’s Newberg campus, where rising high school juniors and seniors will learn theology that connects to their own personal lives. The camp is held June 23-30.

Upcoming Changes to Library Summit Courier Service: Summit Delivery Delays

As part of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, George Fox library patrons enjoy access to materials at 39 member libraries, with items being delivered via a courier to both Newberg and Portland campuses five days a week. In order to improve delivery and turnaround times, the Alliance is transitioning to a new courier service this summer.

During the transition to the new system, Summit deliveries will be delayed for items requested from June 26 to July 5. Summit requests can still be made during this period, but those items will be delivered after July 5.

We highly recommend placing orders for Summit materials ASAP, in order to get them before the delays are in effect. Thank you for your patience during this process as we transition to a new courier service. We look forward to being able to provide improved service going forward!

Plant Services’ overhead work continues through end of June

Plant Services will be trimming trees and doing other overhead work with a high lift through the end of the month. Please be aware as you are walking through campus so that you do not walk through these areas.

The areas will be marked, and parking areas will be cordoned off the day before work progresses in that area. For your safety and that of your vehicle, do not park or walk in areas that have been reserved.
