{"id":855,"date":"2013-05-17T01:22:18","date_gmt":"2013-05-17T01:22:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beta.dminlgp.com\/my-standout-assessment-report-based-on-the-book-by\/"},"modified":"2014-07-16T13:22:34","modified_gmt":"2014-07-16T13:22:34","slug":"my-standout-assessment-report-based-on-the-book-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.georgefox.edu\/dlgp\/my-standout-assessment-report-based-on-the-book-by\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>My Standout Assessment Report based on the book by Marcus Buckingham revealed that my first strength is as a \u201cStimulator\u201d and my second is as a \u201cProvider.\u201d\u00a0 The greatest value I bring to the team is: &#8220;You make the exciting safe.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>As I read through the results of the assessment I couldn\u2019t stop from laughing because it did seem to peg me fairly well.\u00a0 As a &#8220;Stimulator&#8221; I am a high energy person who likes to raise the electricity in the room and tend to see life as a \u201cstage.\u201d\u00a0 As a &#8220;Provider&#8221; I am non-judgmental, fiercely loyal and compassionate.\u00a0 I have a keen insight to peoples\u2019 emotions and strive to lift and inspire others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Areas that I need to watch out for are making sure I don\u2019t try to solve all of the issues, and taking down time so that I don\u2019t \u201ccrash.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>My third highest strength is \u201cTeacher.\u201d\u00a0 Since this is my profession, and one that I thoroughly enjoy, it makes sense that this ranked high.\u00a0 However, I do see my primary role in the classroom as one of \u201cStimulator\u201d as I have realized that if the students are not having fun and are not engaged with the information they will not enjoy nor retain the knowledge.\u00a0 In many of my student\u2019s assessments of me they use the phrase \u201cpassionate about the topic.\u201d\u00a0 I also enact the role of \u201cProvider,\u201d for those students who become distracted or demotivated due to personal issues, so that they can achieve success in completing the course.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>According to the Standout Assessment ways to \u201cChallenge\u201d me are to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span><\/span><\/span><span>Put me in high-stakes situations in which I have to win over clients, peers or senior executives <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><\/span><\/span><span>Give me the broken-down and disheartened team, where trust has crumbled and conflict reigns. I can help them recover.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><\/span><\/span><span>The bigger the stage the better. Set me up for high-profile presentations with demanding audiences. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>These are basically what I do in my classes each semester as well as at meetings and events.\u00a0 Overall, I see life as a great stage full of color, dreams and beauty.\u00a0 I feel compelled to help others realize their own goodness and have fun. I take the scripture, &#8220;O taste and see that God is good&#8230;&#8221; as literal. \ud83d\ude42<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>This assessment affirmed me in many ways, and also reminded me of the areas I already knew about that needed my attention.\u00a0 By reminding me of my strengths it gave me a surge of confidence in how I currently teach, minister and live life.\u00a0 It also inspired me to remember to rejuvenate and refresh myself as well as build a good \u201cfamily\u201d around me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Buckingham, Marcus.
