The Three C\u2019s<\/span><\/p>\n

Clear <\/span><\/p>\n

Concise<\/span><\/p>\n

Comprehensive<\/span><\/p>\n

That is the mantra of my lead pastor.\u00a0 Communication must be the three C\u2019s.\u00a0 He preaches it, speaks it and fully believes in it.\u00a0 There are even times that he stops what is going on in a meeting to emphasize these principles.\u00a0\u00a0 I have worked with him for over 14 years and I know them really well. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>In this simple book, I believe I have found the fourth C.\u00a0 Critical thinking is the art of analyzing and evaluating thinking with a view to improving it.[1]<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe the fourth C is the most important C because it leads to effective thinking which can help to accomplish the other three.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Combining this book with the writings of Kate Turabian in her book, A Manual for Writers,<\/i><\/b> brings me to the crossroads of changing how I think, process, question, reason and write.\u00a0 She states that people will \u201cjudge your work not just by the quality of your answer, but by the significance of your question.\u201d[2]<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0 The art of question asking is so well defined throughout this guide that I know it will be open all the time as I proceed forward as a communicator and a writer.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>So here we go.\u00a0 Bringing the fourth C to the other three. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>1.\u00a0 Clear<\/span><\/i>:\u00a0 Clarity, could you elaborate further on this point?\u00a0 Could you express that point in another way?\u00a0 Could you give an illustration?\u00a0 Could you give me an example? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>2.\u00a0 Concise<\/span><\/i>:\u00a0 Depth,\u00a0 how does your answer address the complexities in the question?\u00a0 Are you dealing with the most significant factors? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Breadth,\u00a0\u00a0 Do we need to consider another point of view?\u00a0\u00a0 Is there another way to look at this question?\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>3.\u00a0 Comprehensive<\/span><\/i>:\u00a0 Precision,\u00a0 can you give me more detail?\u00a0 Could you be more specific? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Logic, does this really make sense?\u00a0 Does that follow from what you said?\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Accuracy, is that really true?\u00a0 How could we check that?\u00a0 How could we find out if that is true?\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>By applying the universal intellectual standards from page eight and nine to the three C\u2019s, I believe it is now immersed in the fourth C.[3]<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 Critical thinking takes you to a deeper place of understanding by intellectual questioning. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i>4.\u00a0 Critical Thinker:<\/span><\/i>\u00a0 now I have a process for the three C\u2019s to go through.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Already I have started to improve by asking questions that must be answered, to bring the quality of my work to a significant new level.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
