When I was a member of another church there were times that the pastor (our leader) would read Psalms 150. When he would get to the verses that read: Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.\u00a0Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.\u00a0Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals, he would point to each instrument. At the sign of his finger each instrument had their moment to shine. The crowd cheered on with praises both to the Lord and the success of the instrument. It was the sound of each instrument joining \u00a0together that made the congregation explode in praise.<\/p>\n
Glazer points out that there was a need for every sounds to compliment each other. The three components that he mentioned as essential to leadership are “integrity, courage and humility”. We have seen one or more of these qualities in some of the most prominent leaders. I think of christian leaders most when speaking of integrity. Often many people assume that because one is a christian they are honest and deal in truth. According to the article “What is integrity in leadership” being a christian is not a qualifier for integrity. They believe that leaders with integrity have these attributes:<\/p>\n
Glazer notes that as christian leaders we share these same attributes. He states that in our partnership with christ we must be leaders that are “listening, seeing, learning, loving and doing”. Glazer shares with us that we should be listening for direction from God. Being lead by the spirit helps in seeing things Gods way so that others can see light with in us and follow in christian walk. Just as a student learnings from a teacher, Glazer also urges us to learn from what have heard and seen in relationship with God. An example of this is when Jesus taught the disciples as they followed him. They learned what they heard Jesus say as he taught and the works of his hand. In the process of walking with Jesus the disciples were able to learn to love like him and work as he did.<\/p>\n
In conclusion, the christian leader has great responsibility to Gods people. As leaders following Gods will help to produce more leaders and disciples in the kingdom. When all of these events align it is the sweetest sound.<\/p>\n
