I talked with Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design major Alyssa Ott after this year’s Simmetria Fashion Show. She was the announcer for the event. Check out my interview with her and learn about one of the many unique majors at George Fox.
Today I joined the Event Video class as they worked on an in-class project. When I arrived at the media center, the Cinema and Media Communications majors had already built a set, arranged props, and were rehearsing for a sitcom taping. The story was written by a member of the class and the plot centered around two college roommates. Each person in the class played an important role in the production. There were students in the control room directing the production and mixing sound. Out on the studio floor was a director, three camera operators, a floor manager, and a boom operator. Professor Matt Meyer helped solve technical issues and was a guiding force throughout the studio. The filming process seemed to go very smoothly, and they were able to get four or five great takes of the whole scene. After the production wrapped the director had the whole crew assemble on the set for a group photo. Photos by: Natalie Daly
