Q: How would you describe your experience at George Fox?
A: George Fox has been instrumental in shaping my personal and career growth. My professors, specifically Seth Sikkema and Josh Sauerwein, have prepared me well for life after Fox. They have had the biggest impact on my education and knowledge in accounting, as well as being great mentors. I feel blessed and lucky to have had them as professors.
My favorite memories will come from hanging out with my friends and roommates, playing Thursday night Frisbee and watching my Seahawks go all the way. I’ve learned to have a curious mind and that success comes from doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.
Q: How have you changed or grown since coming to George Fox?
A: My time at George Fox has solidified my vocation, my passions and my skills, which amazingly all come together in accounting. I came in as a freshman having a vague idea of what accounting entailed and why I wanted to pursue it, but as I studied more it became clear that it was a perfect fit for reasons I hadn’t even considered. George Fox has given me opportunities to explore and expand upon my interest in accounting with a leadership role in the Accounting Club and an internship at an accounting firm, along with many other experiences.
Q: What’s next?
A: I am blessed to have a wonderful job lined up in Seattle with Moss Adams, a regional accounting firm. I will start full-time there as a tax accountant in January of 2015. Until then, I will be taking the CPA exam and working towards my Masters of Taxation from Golden Gate University. I really believe Moss Adams is where I am supposed to be and I love the firm so I hope to stay there for the entirety of my career.
