Homecoming 2015 is Here!

Bruin pride is contagious at George Fox University these days. Have you felt it? Have you found yourself sporting George Fox gear around campus? Have you found yourself following your favorite teams who compete for all of us True Blue fans? Have you found yourself walking through campus, admiring its beauty, and wondering if George Fox might actually be the real life version of Narnia?

It’s time for tailgating and medallion hunts. It’s time for football and face paint. It’s time for victory bells and drum lines. It’s time for reliving those long-ago college years and coming back to George Fox, the starting point for so many adventures.

Homecoming week is here! It’s a reminder that we’re all Bruins together.

“Homecoming Week reminds me that we are part of something bigger. As you walk onto the quad you see alumni and current students taking pictures infront of the clock tower, or you see them at the football game sporting blue and gold and chanting “Bruin Power!” It is a reminder that we are all Bruins at heart, and at some point in our lives called this campus our home. No matter if you’re a current freshman at Fox or celebrating your 70 year class reunion, we are all united by our Bruin Pride.” – Sydney West

“Homecoming always brings about this air of excitement, pride and anticipation for me regarding the large crowds and roaring stands under bright Friday night lights. For that reason homecoming hasn’t been the same for me since coming to college. However with the return of football here at Fox, that same atmosphere that I used to love has been brought back to life again in me and I think in many others as well. Homecoming should be seen as a chance to show off school pride and get rowdy for all athletic events and traditions. Homecoming is about coming together as a school and celebrating the fact that we’re here together. Go Bruins!” – Matt Miller

“Something about the leaves changing, the air getting crisp, and football spirit in the air makes fall and Homecoming one of my favorite times of year. The energy, not only from current students, but faculty and staff, alumni, and parents makes it an exciting week to be a Bruin. There are so many different activities and this year, because I’m heavily involved, not only do I get to enjoy being a part of the events but seeing them from a whole new perspective. It is fun and exciting to have a hand in planning Homecoming and creating the excitement of remembering what the George Fox Community is about.” – Charlotte Gray

“This is the time of year when everyone becomes more alive and more amped up. Pumpkin everything, football in full swing, cold air coming in… it is all amazing!!” – Austin O’Neal

“I look forward to the school spirit and the overall excitement that surrounds Homecoming Week because it brings everyone together as a school community.” – Rachel Gibbs

“I love all the school spirit and excitement; I especially love seeing the alumni from Friendsview come over and celebrate with current Fox students.” – Ali Diehl

“During Homecoming week, I look forward to the merging of two journeys, those returning to their place of success with those just entering their season of promise. Although at different places along their path, both started at the same place, the same home. George Fox.” – Bryant Quinn

“Homecoming Week is one of my favorite weeks at Fox.  I think my favorite aspect of this week is witnessing such awesome school spirit.  Not only are students involved with the events of this week, but generations of alumni are active participants as well.  It’s this week of all weeks that students get to witness the depth of the George Fox family and the school spirit that is ingrained within it.”
– Kyle Webster

There are lots of fun events happening on campus this week including the football game on Saturday afternoon and a car-smash during the pre-game tailgate with proceeds benefiting hungry families in our community. Keep your eyes peeled for the first clues for the annual medallion hunt, too! Find the medallion hidden on campus and you could be $200 richer.
