George Fox hosts Jazz Dialogues Concert on March 17

Theme ‘Women in the Jazz Age’ includes performance by Jazz Ensemble, as well as lecture by professor Leah Payne

NEWBERG, Ore. – The Newberg community is invited to a free Jazz Dialogues Concert and lecture hosted at George Fox University at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 17, in the university’s Bauman Auditorium. There is no admission charge, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

This marks the school’s second annual unique, interdisciplinary presentation. This year’s lecture/recital is entitled “Jazz Dialogues: Women in the Jazz Age.” It features a lecture by Leah Payne, assistant professor of Christian studies at George Fox, and performances by the university’s Jazz Ensemble, which will play the music of women composers including Mary Lou Williams, Billie Holiday, Maria Schneider and more.
