George Fox Evangelical Seminary hosts Margaret Feinberg Nov. 18

One of Charisma magazine’s ‘30 emerging voices’ speaks at Ministry in Contemporary Culture Seminar

PORTLAND, Ore. – Author Margaret Feinberg, named by Charisma magazine as one of the “30 emerging voices” who will help lead the church in the next decade, will speak at George Fox Evangelical Seminary from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the university’s Portland Center.

Feinberg’s presentation, “The Church’s Missional Witness in a Millennial Age,” is the latest installment of the seminary’s Ministry in Contemporary Culture Seminar series. The session will address how the church interacts with culture and offer insight into how Christians can reach the next generation.

The event also will include a panel discussion featuring six panelists of local church leaders who will give their perspectives and insights on the topic at hand. Feinberg also will present a second session, titled “Backstage Pass: A Toolbox of Ideas for Reaching the Next Generation.”

The seminar will meet in Room 155 of the seminary’s Portland Center near Tigard, located at 12753 S.W. 68th Ave., in Portland. Admission to the seminar is $30 per individual, $25 for two or more from the same organization, and $20 for George Fox University students and alumni. An optional deli lunch will be available on site for $10.

Feinberg has spoken at churches nationwide and conferences including Catalyst, Creation Fest and Youth Specialties. She has written more than two dozen books and Bible studies, including The Organic God, The Sacred Echo, Scouting the Divine, and their corresponding DVD Bible studies. She is known for her relational teaching style and inviting people to discover the relevance of God and his Word in a modern world.

George Fox Evangelical Seminary offers a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree in leadership and spiritual formation, global missional leadership, and semiotics and future studies. Also offered is a Master of Divinity degree and Master of Arts degrees in theological studies, spiritual formation and ministry leadership. Students also may earn a certificate in spiritual formation and discipleship.
