Mark McMinn (PsyD) received news that his 2017 book, The Science of Virtue, will be receiving the 2018 Book Award from the Martin Institute and Dallas Willard Center at Westmont College. Mark will travel to Westmont in January to receive the award and give a chapel talk and provost lecture.

Ed Higgins (English Faculty Emeritus) published a poem, “Blue Heron,” in the Summer 2018 issue of Terrene, on online literary magazine dedicated to “an earth worth writing for.”

Karen Buchanan (EdD) and Tom Buchanan (MAT) presented their paper, “Illuminating Family-Community Knowledge in Teacher Education,” at the 2018 British Educational Research Association (BERA) Conference in Newcastle, England, on Sept. 11.

Alex Rolfe (Library) was honored by bepress, the university’s Digital Commons platform company, as an IR (Institutional Repository) “all-star” for 2018. Alex, a technical services and scholarly communications librarian, has been key in integrating the repository Digital Commons@George Fox University into the campus mission to help students Be Known academically and professionally, and to promote George Fox’s scholarship.
