Barnett-Scott ecolleagueScott Barnett, a 2011 graduate of George Fox, has returned to his alma mater to work as an admissions counselor in the undergraduate admissions office. He arrives from Baylor University, where he’s been an admissions counselor for the past two years. Previously, he spent the first half of 2012 as a human resources intern with Invisible Children of San Diego, working on a voluntary basis. Prior to his graduation from George Fox, Scott was a resident assistant (RA) at the university for three years (2008-11), and in 2010 he was named the Northwest Conference’s Sportsman of the Year as a men’s tennis player. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in writing and literature from George Fox. He lives in Newberg and attends Northside Community Church.


Shaundrea-HirengenShaundrea Hirengen joined the university in May as a financial aid loan specialist. She has worked as a writing consultant in George Fox’s Academic Resource Center for the past year and, before that, was a new accounts manager for Parr Lumber in Hillsboro, Ore., from 2007 to 2013. She also gained office manager experience with a body shop in Hillsboro from 2004 to 2007. Shaundrea earned a bachelor’s degree in English from George Fox in May. She lives in Carlton with her husband Matt and attends A Jesus Church (formerly Solid Rock) in Portland.


O'Doherty_AshleyAshley O’Doherty joined the university in late May as an administrative assistant for adult degree programs, a position in which she has served as a temp since January. Prior to that, she was in Brazil for four months as a teacher and tutor with Excellent Global English School. Previously, she worked with clients as a personal assistant at Mid-Valley Rehabilitation Center in Amity, Ore., in 2011-12. She also spent time overseas in 2010-11, working as an intern with Stockholm Vineyard Church in Stockholm, Sweden. Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from George Fox in 2009 and is working toward a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages through Azusa Pacific University. She lives in Newberg and attends Family Life Church in town.


Provoast_BriannaThe physical therapy program welcomes Brianna Provoast as an administrative assistant. For the past three years she’s been employed as an office administrator at Newberg Foursquare Church. Also, since 2012, she’s worked as a wedding coordinator with Champagne Wedding Coordination of Portland. She has also worked the last five months as a sales associate for Pulp & Circumstance, a gift boutique in Newberg. Brianna earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from George Fox in 2008. She lives in Newberg with husband Sam and their yellow lab, Macy, and attends Newberg Foursquare Church.


TeuscherAimeeThe university welcomes Aimee Teuscher as a recruitment and enrollment counselor for adult degree programs at the Portland Center. For the past two years she’s worked as a student success coach with InsideTrack, an organization dedicated to working with colleges and universities to improve student and institutional success. Also, since 2009, she worked for Youth Dynamic Adventures as a whitewater rafting guide who used outdoor trips to help participants draw closer to God. She also has experience as a sales manager and personal trainer, and in 2010-11 she worked at Warner Pacific College as director of communications as part of student government. Aimee earned a bachelor’s degree in health from Warner Pacific in 2012. She lives in Portland with roommates and attends A Jesus Church (formerly Solid Rock) downtown.


Trask-EliseAn alumna of George Fox, Elise Trask, returned to her alma mater last week to serve as associate director of athletics. For the past three years she has worked as the assistant director of operations for the Oregon State University women’s basketball program, assisting former George Fox and current OSU coach Scott Rueck. Among her duties were developing new branding strategies; coordinating community relations for staff and athletes; creating marketing material for recruits, fans, alumni and donors; and orchestrating the planning, logistics and execution of high-profile events related to the program. A member of the 2009 Division III national champion women’s basketball team at George Fox, Elise earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the university in 2010. She is married to former All-Northwest Conference baseball catcher Brent Trask. The couple plans to move to Newberg.


Ethan Burke (IT) left George Fox on June 3 to pursue work as a freelance cinematographer and camera operator. He plans to work on films, do broadcast multi-camera production and create market videos for businesses.

Steve Outslay (Development) left the university on May 22.

Larry Shutts (Plant Services/Custodial) left the university last week.
