We hope you can join us for this sweet treat and enjoy a chance to visit with coworkers. Summer student employees are also invited. Portland employees are also being provided a similar afternoon break.

Public safety expert speaks on campus June 25

Wednesday, June 19th, 2013

Across the nation, tragic events are playing out in our workplaces, schools, churches, theaters and shopping malls. These incidents are not random crimes, but acts of targeted violence. The potential for violence cannot be denied. Mitigating risk and offering protection without compromising an organization’s mission or values is the goal of Holvi Protective.

Zach Elliott, a managing partner at Holvi LLC, a threat assessment and threat management agency located in Newberg, will be the featured speaker at the Tuesday, June 25, monthly Newberg meeting of the Christian Chamber of Commerce of the Northwest. The meeting is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Villa Academic Complex.

Elliott has more than 12 years of experience in public safety, serving as a forensic evidence technician with the Oregon State Police, a security director for an Oregon school district and other special assignments in law enforcement. He is a 2007 graduate of the Gavin De Becker Threat Assessment and Threat Management Academy and has provided training and services for hundreds of clients.

Elliott also serves in a pastoral role as an elder at Hillside Fellowship Church, which meets at the Newberg Historical Chapel & Event Center on Main Street in Newberg.

For more information, go to the Chamber’s website or call 503-928-8354.
