W-2s will be mailed to students that received pay in 2011 no later than January 31st to the active Campus Box that is in People Soft. It you don’t have an active Campus Box, it will be mailed to the active Mailing or Home Address in People Soft. Your W-2, which states your earnings and any taxes withheld for the 2011 calendar year, will be needed to file your tax return(s) that are due by April 15th each year. The W-2 also provides information needed to complete the FAFSA. If you want to get started completing your tax return or your FAFSA before you receive your W-2, you can use the year-to-date information from your last pay check of 2011 – probably your December 15th pay check.
Remember that your W-2 form contains confidential information so guard it carefully. For your convenience, you will be able to access your W-2 in MyGFU Self Service after the first of February.

Did you notice the 560,000 pounds of garbage going to the landfill every year from the George Fox Newberg campus? Interested in how 100,000 pounds of that garbage could be composted right here on campus?
Plant Services is exploring the possibility of enacting a campus-wide composting program and needs five to six on-campus houses or apartments to participate in a two-week compostable food waste audit. If you think you can help, contact Evan Watson at ewatson@georgefox.edu or 971-237-0789 for details.

Don’t forget to support George Fox theatre students by purchasing an oil change card for Doran Automotive in Newberg. Funds raised will help send students to the Region VII Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Fort Collins, Colo., in February.
Each card is good for one oil, lube, and filter, plus a 50-point inspection. Cards cost $25 each (the same price you would pay with the Bruin Discount Card), and the net proceeds go toward transportation costs for the students.
To learn more or to purchase a card, contact Hannah Irish at hirish@georgefox.edu or 253-332-1963.
